Science and research, education and training are factors that forming and guiding the social and economic development and have a lasting influence. Since more than twenty years, the Group of experts for Empirical Studies (GES) is monitoring these developments. As a research agency, as a Think Tank and as a consulting agency as well as an organization implementing programs we are in particular concerned with the following issues:
- Impacts of Europeanization, internationalization and globalization on educational systems and on the work of scientists and high qualified manpower
- Aspects of international mobility of students, scientists and high qualified professionals
- Science- and technology transfer between industrialized nations and between industrial-ized and threshold res. developing countries
On behalf of German and foreign ministries as well as of other governmental and intergovernmental authorities, the European Commission and the UN, of German and international NGOs, GES has carried out numerous studies and surveys and has managed the implementation of respective long-term programs. Our scope of work includes evaluations of national and international programs as well as the implementation of projects in the field of international development cooperation.
